Open Access Policy

About the Policy

TEJAS Journal of Technologies and Humanitarian Science (TJTHS) is an open-access scholarly journal. All articles published by the journal are made freely available online immediately after publication.

Readers may access the full text of published articles without paying subscription or access charges. Registration, membership, or institutional authorization is not required to read published content.

There is no embargo period for published articles.

Open Access to Published Content

Users may access, read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, link to, and reuse published articles in accordance with the applicable Creative Commons licence.

Open access supports the dissemination of scholarly research among researchers, educators, students, professionals, institutions, policymakers, independent scholars, and members of the public.

Open access does not guarantee a particular number of article views, downloads, citations, indexing outcomes, or academic impact.

Creative Commons Licence

Articles published by TJTHS are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International Licence (CC BY 4.0).

Official licence information:
https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/

Under the CC BY 4.0 licence, users may:

  • Copy and redistribute published material in any medium or format
  • Share articles through repositories, websites, databases, and educational platforms
  • Remix, transform, translate, adapt, or build upon the material
  • Use the material for commercial and non-commercial purposes

These permissions apply provided that users comply with the conditions of the licence.

Attribution Requirements

Anyone reusing content published by TJTHS must:

  • Give appropriate credit to the original author or authors
  • Provide the title of the article
  • Identify TEJAS Journal of Technologies and Humanitarian Science as the original publication source
  • Include the DOI or official article link, where available
  • Provide a link to the CC BY 4.0 licence
  • Clearly indicate whether changes, adaptations, or translations were made

Attribution must not suggest that the authors, journal, editors, Editorial Board, or publisher endorse the user or the manner in which the material has been reused.

Users must not apply legal terms or technological restrictions that prevent others from exercising the rights granted under the CC BY 4.0 licence.

Copyright Ownership

Authors retain the copyright of their articles published by TJTHS.

The journal does not require authors to transfer ownership of their copyright as a condition of publication.

Upon acceptance, authors grant TJTHS a non-exclusive licence to:

  • Publish the article
  • Reproduce and distribute the article
  • Make the article available electronically and, where applicable, in print
  • Archive the article within the journal’s publication records
  • Identify TJTHS as the original place of publication
  • Provide the article and its metadata to scholarly databases, repositories, indexing services, and discovery systems

Because the publication licence is non-exclusive, copyright ownership remains with the author or authors.

Author Sharing and Repository Deposit

Authors may:

  • Share and distribute their published articles
  • Deposit the published version in an institutional repository
  • Display the published version on a personal or institutional website
  • Share the published version through an academic platform
  • Reuse their published content in future scholarly work with appropriate citation

When sharing or depositing an article, authors should include:

  • Complete bibliographic citation
  • Journal title
  • Volume and issue details
  • DOI or official publication link, where available
  • Copyright notice
  • CC BY 4.0 licence information
  • Any applicable correction or retraction notice

Sharing must not misrepresent the authorship, publication status, article content, or official publication record.

Third-Party Material

The CC BY 4.0 licence applies to article content for which the author or copyright holder is authorized to grant the licence.

Photographs, illustrations, figures, tables, datasets, questionnaires, instruments, maps, excerpts, trademarks, or other third-party material may be subject to separate copyright or licensing conditions.

Material excluded from the article’s CC BY 4.0 licence should be identified through an appropriate credit line, copyright notice, licence statement, or permission notice.

Users must obtain permission from the relevant rights holder before reusing excluded material unless the proposed use is otherwise permitted by applicable law.

Reader Access and Article Processing Charges

Readers are not required to pay subscription, registration, membership, or article-access fees to read content published by TJTHS.

Any Article Processing Charge applicable to authors is separate from reader access and is governed by the journal’s Article Processing Charges Policy.

Payment of an Article Processing Charge does not purchase reader access rights, because published articles are openly accessible under the journal’s open-access model.

Article-Level Licence Information

The applicable copyright and licence information should be displayed consistently with each published article.

The following notice may be used on article webpages and published article files:

© [Year] The Author(s). This article is licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International Licence (CC BY 4.0), which permits use, sharing, adaptation, distribution, and reproduction in any medium or format, provided that appropriate credit is given to the original author(s) and source, a link to the licence is provided, and any changes made are indicated.

Relationship with Other Policies

This Open Access Policy should be read together with the journal’s:

  • Copyright and Licensing Policy
  • Article Processing Charges Policy
  • Author Guidelines
  • Data Availability Policy
  • Digital Archiving Policy
  • Terms and Conditions

Policy consistency: Open-access, copyright, licensing, repository-deposit, and article-level information must remain consistent across these pages.

Policy Review

TJTHS may review and revise this Open Access Policy when changes are required in journal procedures, copyright arrangements, licensing practices, or scholarly publishing requirements.

A future policy revision will not retrospectively revoke or restrict the CC BY 4.0 licence already applied to a published article.
