About the Policy
TEJAS Journal of Technologies and Humanitarian Science (TJTHS) (ISSN: 2583-5599) is committed to protecting the intellectual property rights of authors while promoting the broad dissemination of scholarly research. The journal supports responsible open scholarly communication by establishing clear copyright ownership, open-access licensing terms, and transparent permissions for the use and distribution of published content.
Purpose of the Policy
The purpose of this policy is to define copyright ownership, licensing arrangements, and permitted uses of published articles. The policy promotes transparency, legal clarity, and unrestricted dissemination of scholarly work in accordance with international open-access standards and Creative Commons guidelines.
Copyright Ownership
Authors retain full copyright of their original scholarly work published in TJTHS without restrictions. By submitting a manuscript, authors confirm that the work is original, that they possess the necessary rights to publish the content, and that the manuscript does not infringe upon the intellectual property rights of any third party.
Publishing License
Upon acceptance of a manuscript, authors grant TEJAS Journal of Technologies and Humanitarian Science (TJTHS) a non-exclusive license to publish, reproduce, archive, preserve, distribute, and make the article publicly available through the journal’s official publishing platform and associated indexing services. This enables the journal to preserve and disseminate the work as part of the permanent scholarly record.
Licensing Terms (CC BY 4.0)
All articles published by TJTHS are made available under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0).
Under this open-access license, anyone is free to:
- Share: Copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format.
- Adapt: Remix, transform, and build upon the material for any purpose, including commercial use.
These freedoms apply as long as users adhere to the attribution terms stated in the license.
Author Rights
Because authors retain copyright under the CC BY 4.0 license, they maintain unrestricted rights to use, reuse, share, and deposit their published work. Authors are free to:
- Self-archive the published PDF version in institutional repositories, subject archives, or personal websites immediately upon publication.
- Share the article freely with colleagues, students, and academic networks.
- Reuse figures, tables, or text excerpts in future publications, books, lectures, or patents.
- Use the work for both educational and commercial applications, provided proper credit is given to the original TJTHS publication.
Permissions and Reuse
Third parties do not need formal permission from TJTHS or the authors to reuse published material, provided that appropriate credit is given. Proper attribution must include:
- The names of the original author(s).
- The article title and publication source (TEJAS Journal of Technologies and Humanitarian Science (TJTHS)).
- The official Article DOI or URL.
- A link to the CC BY 4.0 license, indicating if any modifications were made.
Third-Party Content
Authors are responsible for obtaining all necessary permissions to include copyrighted material (such as figures, tables, illustrations, or datasets) owned by third parties within their manuscripts. Third-party content not covered by the CC BY 4.0 license must be clearly identified with appropriate credit lines and copyright notices.
Editorial Responsibility
The Editorial Office oversees the implementation of this policy and may request clarification or supporting documentation regarding copyright ownership, licensing, or permissions whenever necessary. The journal reserves the right to decline publication where copyright ownership or licensing issues cannot be satisfactorily resolved.
Policy Review
TJTHS may periodically review and revise this Copyright & Licensing Policy to reflect developments in copyright law, open-access standards, publication ethics, and internationally recognized editorial principles.
Commitment to Responsible Scholarly Publishing
TEJAS Journal of Technologies and Humanitarian Science (TJTHS) is dedicated to protecting the rights of authors while encouraging the responsible dissemination and lawful use of scholarly research. Through this policy, the journal promotes transparency, academic integrity, and sustainable open access to high-quality scholarly publications.
