Aim and Scope

TEJAS Journal of Technologies and Humanitarian Science (TJTHS) is a peer-reviewed scholarly journal focused on the publication and dissemination of original theoretical, experimental, methodological, and applied research in technology, engineering, applied sciences, environmental sustainability, and related interdisciplinary fields.

The journal welcomes research that contributes to scientific understanding, technological advancement, engineering practice, sustainable development, and the responsible application of technology to industrial, environmental, humanitarian, and societal challenges.

The scope of the journal includes, but is not limited to:

TJTHS also considers interdisciplinary research connecting technology and applied sciences with agriculture, healthcare, education, business, environmental management, public systems, and sustainable development, provided that the manuscript demonstrates a clear technological, scientific, engineering, analytical, or applied research contribution.

Manuscripts that do not demonstrate a meaningful connection with the stated aims and scope of the journal may be declined during initial editorial screening.

Accepted Article Types

TJTHS considers the following categories of scholarly manuscripts, subject to relevance, academic quality, and conformity with the journal's scope:

• Original Research Articles: Full-length manuscripts reporting original theoretical, experimental, computational, analytical, or applied research.
• Review Articles: Critical and structured syntheses of established and emerging research in a clearly defined field.
• Systematic Reviews: Reviews conducted using transparent and reproducible methods for literature identification, selection, appraisal, and synthesis.
• Technical Articles: Manuscripts presenting significant technical developments, engineering solutions, technological implementations, or applied innovations.
• Case Studies: Scholarly analyses of specific technological, engineering, industrial, environmental, or interdisciplinary cases with transferable academic or practical insights.
• Short Communications: Concise reports of significant preliminary findings, technical developments, or focused research contributions.
• Methodological Papers: Manuscripts proposing, evaluating, or improving research methods, analytical procedures, computational approaches, or technical protocols.
• Conceptual Papers: Scholarly manuscripts developing well-supported theoretical, analytical, or conceptual frameworks relevant to the journal's scope.

The Editorial Office may determine the most appropriate article category where the submitted manuscript does not clearly correspond to the category selected by the author.

Manuscript Preparation

Manuscripts submitted to TJTHS must be prepared in Microsoft Word format (.doc or .docx) and should follow the journal's prescribed manuscript template and formatting requirements.

Authors are responsible for ensuring that manuscripts are written in clear academic English and are complete, logically organized, properly referenced, and suitable for scholarly peer review. Authors should carefully proofread manuscripts before submission.

A standard Original Research Article should normally contain the following components:

• Title

• Institutional Affiliations

• Abstract and Keywords
• Introduction
• Literature Review or Relevant Background, where appropriate
• Research Objectives, Questions, or Hypotheses, where applicable
• Materials and Methods or Methodology
• Results and Discussion
• Conclusion and Limitations, where appropriate
• Author Contributions and Funding Statement
• Conflict of Interest Declaration
• Ethics Approval and Informed Consent Statements, where applicable
• Data Availability Statement and Acknowledgments, where applicable
• Generative AI Disclosure, where applicable
• References and Supplementary Material Statement, where applicable

The organization of Review Articles, Systematic Reviews, Methodological Papers, Conceptual Papers, Case Studies, and other article types may differ according to the nature of the manuscript. However, all manuscripts must provide sufficient methodological, analytical, ethical, and bibliographic information to permit appropriate scholarly evaluation.

TJTHS does not impose a single universal word limit for all manuscript categories unless a specific Call for Papers, article type, or manuscript template states otherwise. Manuscripts should be sufficiently detailed to support their scholarly contribution while avoiding unnecessary repetition.

Title, Abstract, and Keywords

The manuscript title should be concise, informative, academically appropriate, and accurately reflect the principal subject of the research.

The abstract should provide a clear standalone summary of the study. For empirical research, it should normally identify the research context or problem, objective, methodology, principal findings, and main conclusion. Authors should avoid unsupported claims, undefined abbreviations, unnecessary citations, and information that is not presented in the manuscript.

Authors should provide relevant keywords that accurately represent the main concepts, methods, applications, or subject areas addressed in the manuscript.

Author Names and Institutional Affiliations

Authors must provide complete and accurate authorship and institutional information at the time of submission.

Each author affiliation should include, where applicable:

• Department, school, faculty, laboratory, or academic unit
• Institution or organization
• City, state or region, where applicable, and country

A valid email address must be provided for the corresponding author. Authors are encouraged to provide their ORCID iD where available. Affiliations must accurately represent the institutional relationship relevant to the research or manuscript and must not be fabricated, misleading, or added solely for promotional or indexing purposes.

Authorship and Contributorship

Authorship should be limited to individuals who have made substantial scholarly contributions to the research and manuscript and who are willing to accept responsibility for the work.

All listed authors must:

• Have made a meaningful scholarly contribution to the work;
• Review and approve the final manuscript;
• Agree to submission of the manuscript to TJTHS; and
• Accept appropriate accountability for the accuracy and integrity of their contribution.

Individuals who contributed to the work but do not meet the criteria for authorship should be acknowledged appropriately rather than listed as authors.

Requests to add, remove, or rearrange authors after submission must include an appropriate explanation and agreement from the concerned authors and are subject to editorial assessment.

Corresponding Author Responsibilities

One author must be identified as the corresponding author.

The corresponding author is responsible for:

• Managing communication with the journal during submission, peer review, revision, production, and post-publication stages;
• Confirming that all authors have approved the submitted and revised versions of the manuscript;
• Ensuring that author names, affiliations, contact information, and contribution information are accurate;
• Coordinating responses to reviewer and editor comments;
• Ensuring that required declarations and supporting documents are provided;
• Communicating relevant editorial decisions to all co-authors; and
• Informing the journal promptly if significant errors or integrity concerns are identified after publication.

Corresponding authorship does not necessarily indicate seniority or ownership of the research.

Tables, Figures, and Illustrative Material

Tables and figures must contribute meaningfully to the presentation or interpretation of the research.

Authors should:

• Number tables and figures consecutively;
• Provide clear titles for tables and informative captions for figures;
• Refer to every table and figure in the main text;
• Ensure that numerical information is consistent with the manuscript;
• Provide images and graphical material at sufficient quality for publication;
• Explain abbreviations, symbols, and units where necessary; and
• Provide an appropriate source or attribution for material reproduced or adapted from another work.

Authors are responsible for obtaining permission to reproduce copyrighted third-party material where such permission is required.

Reference Style

References submitted to TJTHS should follow a consistent IEEE-style numbered citation format for manuscripts in engineering, technology, computer science, and related applied-science fields.

References should be numbered according to their order of citation in the manuscript. Authors are responsible for verifying the accuracy and completeness of all bibliographic information, including author names, article titles, journal or conference titles, volume and issue information, page numbers or article numbers, publication years, URLs where appropriate, and Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs).

Where a DOI is available, authors are encouraged to include it. References must accurately support the statements for which they are cited.

Originality, Plagiarism, and Similarity Screening

TJTHS requires submitted manuscripts to represent original scholarly work and does not permit plagiarism, unattributed copying, inappropriate text recycling, fabrication, falsification, duplicate publication, or other forms of research and publication misconduct.

Submitted manuscripts may be examined using appropriate similarity-detection tools as part of the journal's editorial quality-control process.

A similarity percentage alone is not treated as conclusive evidence of plagiarism and is not used as an automatic acceptance or rejection threshold. Editors consider the nature, extent, location, and context of overlapping material.

Where inappropriate textual overlap or suspected plagiarism is identified, the journal may request clarification or revision, reject the manuscript, or take appropriate post-publication action depending on the nature, seriousness, and stage of the case.

Ethical Standards and Duties of Authors

TJTHS is committed to responsible scholarly publishing and expects authors to maintain high standards of research integrity, transparency, accuracy, and ethical conduct.

Authors are responsible for:

• Submitting original and unpublished scholarly work;
• Accurately reporting research methods, data, analyses, and findings;
• Properly acknowledging and citing relevant sources;
• Avoiding fabrication, falsification, plagiarism, duplicate publication, and inappropriate manipulation of research materials or data;
• Ensuring that authorship appropriately reflects scholarly contributions;
• Disclosing relevant financial, institutional, professional, or personal competing interests;
• Disclosing funding and other material support;
• Obtaining appropriate ethical approval and informed consent where applicable;
• Protecting confidential and personally identifiable information;
• Providing accurate information about research data and supporting materials;
• Transparently disclosing relevant use of generative AI or AI-assisted technologies; and
• Promptly informing the Editorial Office of significant errors identified in submitted or published work.

Ethics Approval & Informed Consent

Research involving human participants, animals, identifiable personal information, or other activities subject to institutional or regulatory ethical oversight must comply with applicable ethical, legal, and institutional requirements.

Where formal ethics approval is required, the manuscript should identify the approving institutional review board, research ethics committee, animal ethics committee, or equivalent body and should provide the approval or reference number where available.

For research involving human participants, authors must obtain appropriate informed consent where required by applicable ethical and legal standards. Separate consent for publication may be required where manuscripts contain identifiable personal information or clinical details.

Conflict of Interest and Competing Interests

Authors must disclose any financial, professional, institutional, commercial, personal, or other relationship that could reasonably be perceived as influencing the research or its interpretation.

A competing interest does not automatically prevent publication; however, relevant interests must be disclosed transparently. Where no relevant competing interests exist, authors should include a declaration such as: “The authors declare that they have no competing interests relevant to this work.”

Funding Statement & Data Availability

Funding Statement: Authors must disclose all financial support, research grants, sponsorship, institutional funding, equipment support, or other material assistance. Where no external funding was received, authors may state: “The authors received no external funding for this research.”

Data Availability: Authors should provide sufficient information to support transparency, verification, and reproducibility. Manuscripts should include a Data Availability Statement explaining whether and how the underlying data, code, software, or supplementary files can be accessed.

Generative AI & AI-Assisted Technologies

Authors must use generative artificial intelligence and AI-assisted technologies responsibly and transparently.

Generative AI systems and other AI tools cannot be listed as authors or co-authors because they cannot accept responsibility or accountability for scholarly work. Authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy, originality, integrity, citations, ethical compliance, and final content of submitted manuscripts.

Where generative AI or AI-assisted technology has materially contributed to writing, translation, coding, data analysis, image generation, or another substantive aspect, authors must provide an appropriate disclosure in accordance with the journal's Generative AI Policy.

Copyright and Licensing

Authors retain copyright in their published work while granting TJTHS the rights necessary to publish, distribute, and make the article publicly available.

Unless otherwise stated for an individual article, TJTHS articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0) .

Article Processing Charges (APC)

TEJAS Journal of Technologies and Humanitarian Science (TJTHS) applies an Article Processing Charge (APC) only to manuscripts accepted for publication following peer review and editorial approval. The charge supports editorial administration, manuscript processing, digital publication, journal infrastructure, and related publishing activities.

No fee is charged merely for manuscript submission. Payment of an APC does not influence peer-review outcomes, editorial evaluation, or acceptance decisions.

Peer-Review and Editorial Workflow

TJTHS follows a double-blind peer-review process. The normal editorial workflow includes:

• Manuscript submission;
• Administrative and technical checks;
• Initial editorial screening for scope, originality, presentation, ethical compliance, and basic scholarly suitability;
• Assignment to independent reviewers where the manuscript is suitable for peer review;
• Evaluation by normally at least two reviewers with relevant subject expertise;
• Editorial consideration of reviewer reports;
• Revision by authors where required;
• Additional review where necessary; and
• Final editorial decision and production/publication following completion of required checks.

Corrections, Retractions & Withdrawal

Authors have a continuing responsibility for the accuracy and integrity of their published work. If an author discovers a significant error, omission, or integrity concern after publication, the corresponding author should contact the Editorial Office promptly.

Authors who wish to withdraw a manuscript must submit a formal request to the Editorial Office through the corresponding author and provide an appropriate reason. Simultaneous submission elsewhere while under review by TJTHS is strictly prohibited.
