Prof. Dr. Whitney Maria Behr is a Full Professor of Structural Geology and Tectonics in the Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences at ETH Zurich, Switzerland. She leads the Structural Geology and Tectonics group within the Geological Institute and serves as Deputy Head of the Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences. Her research examines the mechanics and kinematics of deformation within Earth’s lithosphere, with particular emphasis on crustal and upper-mantle rheology, subduction-interface processes, strain localization, rock mechanics, tectonic geomorphology, active fault systems, and earthquake hazards. Her work integrates field observations, microstructural analysis, laboratory rock-deformation experiments, geochronological approaches, and numerical modeling to investigate how faults, shear zones, and plate-boundary systems evolve through geological time. She received her Ph.D. in Structural Geology and Active Tectonics from the University of Southern California and joined ETH Zurich in 2018. She has received several international distinctions for her contributions to tectonics, rock mechanics, and geodynamics and continues to contribute to research, teaching, graduate supervision, and academic leadership at ETH Zurich.

Prof. Vladyslav Vyazovskiy is Professor of Sleep Physiology and Director of Graduate Studies in the Department of Physiology, Anatomy and Genetics at the University of Oxford, United Kingdom. Prof. Yixin Lu is Provost’s Chair Professor and Head of the Department of Chemistry at the National University of Singapore. His research focuses on synthetic organic chemistry, asymmetric catalysis and synthesis, medicinal chemistry, and the development of stereoselective catalytic methodologies. His current research interests include asymmetric phosphine catalysis, asymmetric construction of axial chirality, photoredox-organocatalytic and transition-metal cooperative catalysis, total synthesis, and transition-metal catalysis. He received his Ph.D. from McGill University after earlier studies at Dalian University of Technology and Fudan University, and subsequently undertook postdoctoral research at Nagoya University and the Clinical Research Institute of Montreal. He joined the National University of Singapore in 2003, progressing from Assistant Professor to Associate Professor and then Professor. His academic contributions encompass catalytic methodology development, organocatalysis, stereoselective synthesis, medicinally relevant molecular construction, research supervision, and academic leadership. Prof. Dr. Shana J. Sturla is Full Professor of Toxicology in the Department of Health Sciences and Technology at ETH Zurich, Switzerland, where she heads the Laboratory of Toxicology within the Institute of Food, Nutrition and Health. Her research integrates toxicology, chemical biology, organic chemistry, analytical chemistry, and biochemistry to investigate how chemical exposures influence human health and disease. Her work particularly examines mechanisms of mutagenesis, biomolecular and DNA adduct formation, chemical transformations mediated by the gut microbiome, molecular mechanisms of anticancer agents, nanomaterial safety, and precision approaches to disease prevention and therapy. She received a B.S. in Chemistry from the University of California, Berkeley and a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. After postdoctoral research at the University of Minnesota Cancer Center, she established an independent academic research program and joined ETH Zurich in 2009.
